The Canadian Amputee Hockey Committee was established in 2001 for the purpose of promoting ice hockey for all amputees regardless of age, gender, race or physical ability.
The Canadian Amputee Hockey Team is a remarkable group of proud Canadians, determined to show the world that hockey is our game, regardless of its form.
This desire to rekindle the love of hockey in Canadian amputees was featured in 2011 on CBC's Hockey Day in Canada. Mellissa Fung reported on the first Military Outreach Training Camp at CFB Valcartier.
The team's success has also gained international recognition. CBS Sports showcased their grit, resolve, courage and determination with a nomination for an Arete Award for Courage in Sport.
Since its inception, the team iced by the Committee has proven to be a
force to be reckoned with?undefeated in international competition, and
the winners of 6 consecutive ISIHF World Championships.
The most recent win for Team Canada
on the international stage was in May of 2012 at the ISIHF World
